Jim is a seasoned DUI attorney who has handled hundreds of DUI cases. He has been recognized by the National College for DUI Defense for his efforts as a criminal defense attorney dedicated to the defense of citizens accused of driving under the influence. His practice is primarily focused on DUI defense now, and he is not just a pleader; he is a veteran DUI trial attorney who takes cases to jury trial when the circumstances dictate. He has excellent negotiating skills and works hard to protect the driving privileges of drivers who come to him for help. Most cases do not go before a jury, but by aggressively investigating and working each case he is able to negotiate from a position of strength, as prosecutors know that he will take a case all the way through jury trial when the circumstances warrant a jury trial.
Jim was born in Augusta and graduated Richmond Academy in 1965. He graduated Augusta College in 1969 (BBA), Georgia College at Milledgeville in 1972 (MBA), and Atlanta Law School in 1987 (JD). He took and passed the Georgia Bar prior to graduating law school and has practiced law in Augusta since then. He is also on the faculty of the Institute for Continuing Legal Education and has been an invited speaker to local attorneys about DUI law at the “Update on Georgia Law” seminar held in Augusta. Check around and you will find that Jim has a reputation as a tough DUI lawyer who fights and works hard for his clients (during a recess during a DUI jury trial, a former member of the Richmond County DUI Task Force told him he “fights like a wet cat.”) Let him fight for you, too
